Take off your wet clothes, leave them by the door, besides, where we're going, you won't need them anymore, let the rain hit the window, let the wine settle in, let your heart fly in the soft lights glowing on your skin, O, gotta love it, what else can I do? It feels so good babe, gettin' to gettin' know you, Is it between your petticoats? or within your eyes? Tell me, just where does your secret self hide, let your hair dance wild and free, let your breast heave and sigh, unbosom your self with me, you know all we've got is time, And we're talking about all the drugs we've done, and the cities we've seen, walking over the Osborne bridge, spent the whole day hanging around this shit town with me,
2.
When you left, I felt like Jupiter did, when Pallas burst from his head, long ago, your lips are a staring red, in the picture that sits by my head, that I took at the carnival, you can make such mirrors of your eyes, that I could never devise if it was truth you told, I gotta love it's true, I pushed it all on you, I thought too in time, that you could learn to love, heart like mine, When you left, you left a life embrued, you left an open wound, that won't stop nor slow, your hair, black as black, like the darkness that won't retract, in the deep slumber of the soul, and who the hell wants a rose, when your love, like an amaranth grows and blooms eternal,

Beyond Blue 04:24
I'm beyond blue, I'm beyond thoughts of you, I crossed the line, you don't even cross my mind, I'm beyond red, I'm beyond all of that bloodshed, I passed the Rubicon, all of the passion I felt is gone You made a stage, you made a scene, you cut me down, you broke my dreams, I'm beyond you, I'm beyond blue I'm beyond blue, I'm beyond doing things we used to do, I passed the torch, there's someone new drinkin' gin with you on your front porch, I'm beyond black, and there's no going back, I'm done with your widows weeds, I'm done falling on my knees I dug a grave, I dug it deep, the better for my heart to keep, I'm beyond you, I'm beyond blue...

Red House 03:45
Fresh coffee, from a wood stove, in the summer it's hot here, in the winter it's cold, she'd make love to him, in the white afternoon light, in the evening, before day break, whenever the feeling felt right, It don't matter how you dream, nothing's perfect, but to their friends it nearly seemed, in that red house in the countryside, When she got down, he'd get blue, but he knew she would come around, and she knew he would too, Here them birds sing in spring, where he carved their names just like he carved her ring, in that red house they would, Stay up late drinking wine, he'd play his guitar for her, a little out of tune, a little off time, in that red house, in that red house in the countryside, Big city woman, small town boy, there will be plenty of hardship, there'll be plenty of joy, A mans gotta work, and a girl does too, ain't no secret, everybody know it, it's just what you gotta do, in that red house they would, Stay up late drinking wine, he'd play his guitar for her a little off tune, a little out of time, in that red house in the countryside....

Give me a heart that's golden, give me a silver dream, give Mercury's sandals and Micheal's wings, give me your bitter tear drops and the dew from a rose, and let me plant a kiss upon your little nose, and give me love, real love, right now, Wrap yourself in muslin or Damascine silk, and give me your mazarine gaze and your skin like milk, give me a magic philter brewed by a Japanese monk, and give me the heady draught that got Silinus drunk, and give me love, real love, right now, At the hands of master swordsmen I have met defeat, I've crawled through ancient dungeons, where specters snatched at my feet, Take me into the valley, where the Siren sleeps, and give me all the secrets you swore you'd always keep, and give me love, real love, right now, give me love, like only you know how, give me love, real love, right now

Sweet Marie 04:07
Sad, sweet Marie, in the wan winter light, tears are frozen to your cheeks, as you stand, outside my door, I've seen you shattered, but never so much before, I know I got a lot of nerve, asking for something, I just don't deserve, but give me all the love you can, I'm hard, I'm disheartened, I'm barely a man, give me all the love you can, I slept, I slept in the tub, with an empty bottle of London Dry until the cold water woke me up, and you came, you came like a light, you came like a beacon, burning, in the darkest of dark nights, I know there's no way of knowing, if this love will fade, or, just keep growing, so give me all the love you can, I'm hard, I'm disheartened, I'm barely a man, give me all the love you can, I can't believe you're here, just for me, and you give me all the love you can, I'm hard, I'm disheartened but I'm still a man, you give me all the love you can

Tell me sir, have you seen her, she was riding my prized piebald mare, she stole her from my stables, but that horse can go to hell for all I care, her hair is chestnut, and her eyes are as blue as the Baltic sea, she was wearing a Sunday gown as white as the tops of the trees in February, tell me sir have you seen her, her skin, it shins in the sun, it's like arctic ice, and her breath is as fresh as Boreas and the wilderness, where I found her and I saved her life, I'm looking for the woman who rode away, tell me stranger, did she pass this way? She speaks broken English, and her lips are as red as scarlet sage, and when she sings the songs from her homeland, the mavis hides his head in shame, she was wearing a garland, of picotees and of daffodils, I'll ride this steed, 'til he sweats to his death, and there ain't no man on Earth that I won't kill, see, we were to be married, two days have now past, she got cold feet, but how can you blame her, when she is a northern lass, I'm looking for the woman who rode away, tell me stranger did she pass this was, I'm looking for the woman who rode away tell me stranger, did she pass this was, I'm looking for the woman who rode away, on our wedding day

This is a solemn garden, I am heliotrope, I turn towards you, wherever you go, I see every batting eyelid, through any cloud of smoke, this is perihelion, when I hold you close, You are the wind in the wheat You are the fresh falling snow You are the stormy sea This is how all the trees grow You are a lodestone, I am manganese, I am drawn towards you, you see right through me, this is the clay man is made of, this is the sand in your hair, these are the limitless beaches and the far outreaches where the earth cleaves the air, Loving you feels like dying, dying ain't such a bad thing, life can be so trying, trying to pull through, through to the spring, This is natural, it's a song sung low, this is how all the trees grow

about

After some nights, you wake up entirely unawares of your identity, your location, or whose warm body is next to yours. At least for the first fifteen seconds. Some mornings are like this, especially if It was a good night.
I usually wake up in the afternoon after the most boring hours of the day, when all the plebian folk have already worked half of their shift, right when they're going back from lunch.
I usually ask relatively politely (like the good gentleman I am) after a good disport that my bed companion leave before I arise in the morning, just to avoid the unpleasantries and possible cab fare request.
This time it was different, maybe she just smelled nice.
I'm pretty taciturn on mornings when I don't get enough shut eye, but here I was loquacious like a fool. I even made coffee and muttered something under my breath about breakfast (fortunately she didn't hear me).
After I ran out of things to say, banalities about the night before, and making fun of her taste in music, she played the title track to this album you're holding right now.
The phone speaker clearly favoured the treble.
I decided the opposite approach, the apposite approach. I told her I liked it. Now I've quite started to. Turns out she doesn't mind a heart like mine. At least for now. - Harvey Carlisle
